I was born in Fairbanks, Alaska with a deep love for horses and I wanted to be a Rodeo Queen! At age 4 I began taking lessons and got my first pony when I was only 5. I joined an equestrian 4-H Club the next year.
The summer before leaving for college, I worked at a local stable, teaching, attending shows, and giving trail rides to tourists. It was a unique education and made me eager to learn more.
Over the years I have ridden and shown Western quarter horses, Arabs at halter, English hunt seat, and pleasure horses.
My passion for 3-day eventing in my early twenties led me to the Yorkshire Riding Academy in England for a year of training. It was there I saw my first musical freestyle and I was mesmerized!
Since then, I have had the fortunate opportunities of training with Richard Shrake, Carol McArdle, Peter De Cosemo, Christopher Bartle, Jane Bartle Wilson and their staff at the Yorkshire Riding Center, Stephan Peters, Henrik Johansen, Robert Dover, Lilo Fore, Christine Traurig, George Williams, Juan Matuta, Stephan Kiesewetter in the U.S. and in Germany and my dear friend Holger Bechtloff.
"Whenever an opportunity arises to further my education, I jump at the chance. I encourage you to do the same in whatever form it presents itself."
